Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jamie moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to begin her study in Production Design & Set Decoration for film. After receiving her degree from FIDM, she found work within the Interior Design industry until joining VFX company Stargate Studios in 2010. During her four year tenure at Stargate, she became the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the company, Sam Nicholson, A.S.C. and eventually took on Art Director duties for the majority of in-house shoots the company both shot and produced. Since going freelance 2014, she has worked primarily as a Production Designer on a wide array of film projects, including both narrative & documentary feature films, commercials, series and shorts. In recent years she has had the privilege to work on projects that required heavy fabrication & custom builds as well as intricate miniature scale sets that have allowed her to hone her craft in both mediums.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY / AESTHETIC:

Film environments, once executed correctly, should serve the film by accurately conveying the mood and tone of the story while adding visual interest and, whenever possible, character backstory. My primary goal with any project is to work with the storytellers to put their vision on screen. As an artist, it is important to me to cater to my sensibilities throughout that process by creating compositions that will compliment the frame while displaying great attention to detail and a tasteful use of thematic color play.

For projects in the commercial realm, it’s particularly important to me that I work with the client and director to deliver an environment that not only enhances the product and blends seamlessly with the established color palettes and style aesthetic of the brand, but also enhances the audience’s view and engagement with the product through the visual environments created for the screen.
